Chronicles of Riddick under 24?

I don't know I'm temped to hit it at +115... 24 seems pretty low for a big-budget sci-fi extravaganza like this, but, I think it could potentially bomb pretty hard, compared to it's budget under 24 would be considered a pretty big dissapointment. It's only #4 on moviefone, and it's buzz number ain't too hot, and, it doesn't look like a huge crowd-pleaser in the previews... something about the art direction makes you think Star Trek...

yeah, you might be right... and I think the Stepford Wives is definitelygoing over 14 million... but I'm not going to touch the -190. Think I'll take a pass this week. And watch, Riddick goes under.

actually I think it will go over 15.5, I'd probably take that bracket, but, it might not. I'm not going to take my chances. The best play would have been at WSEX but I didn't get there in time, I'm not going to eat -140 worth of chalk again, which is what Stepford Wives was at by the time I saw the lines, not when I'm down this much. What are you supposed to do sit and hit 'refresh' all day until the lines pop up?

i think Stepford Wives 19 million or more for +210 could hit.

yeah even though normally from my reaction to the trailer I'd think it was a stinker but, it seems like it has some decent buzz.

I think you're right about Riddick. Might pull in no more than 20 .

well.... betting the under on a line that seems deceptably low doesn't always work. It should do at leas 26 million. And that Stepford Wives line was way too low. This always happens to me, I go on a losing streak and then puss out on the next play. What a loser! I probably wouldn't have taken that Riddick under and hit the Wives over. whatever... the lower budget movies sometimes are easier to cap maybe I'll stick to those.

heheh that's not the final count, it could still go under. Honesty the only reason I was looking at the under was because of the +115. I wonder if someone is poucing on these lines when the juice is even or did they open it at over 24 -140?

they usually do it seems, they'll put up a 3-day line sometime on Tuesday... possibly Wednesday morning? if they do... yeah White Chicks might be a surprise hit.
